ISPIM Grand Prize 2017 – Finalists Announced
Those of us who work in Innovation Management know how hard it can be. Innovating innovation management itself needs to be recognized, which is why ISPIM, the International Society for Professional Innovation Management, launched the Grand Prize in 2015, to recognize excellence in innovation management.
This year, with great support from our media partners, including Innovation Excellence, we again had a very impressive array of entries.  The eminent judges had a tough challenge to reduce the field to what we expected to be a final three. However, the voting was so close we had no option but to extend the final grouping to four.
The next step is for ISPIM members to vote online, then the finalists will present live to the ISPIM conference in Vienna, Austria, on Monday 19th June, where the votes from ~450 attendees will be added to the tally to decide the winner.
The four finalists, with brief summaries of their entries (in alphabetical order):
Fraunhofer – Joseph’s off line co-creation and innovation at work
Named after the founder of Fraunhofer institutes, Joseph’s is centred around an open 400 m2 workspace allowing direct interaction and co-creation. The full submission can be viewed here.
GE – Genius Link
GENIUSLINK is GE’s in house team engaging with millions of people to provide customers with new approaches to get business done better, faster and cheaper. You can find the full submission here.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise – the Living Progress Challenge
The Living Progress Challenge is a new signature initiative, bringing the best of crowdsourcing to HPE technology and expertise, to enable social and environmental benefits around the world. Here is the full submission.
IBM – the THINKLab GalaxyÂ
The THINKLab is a meeting place between customer decision makers and IBM™’s best scientists to drive IBM™’s business and collaborative research partnerships. You can see the full submission here.
We’re excited about the final; if you can’t join us in Vienna, keep an eye on the ISPIM website for the result. If you want to attend the ISPIM Conference, there’s still time to register, you can find more details here.

Credit Card Shenanigans
It must be great to be in the credit card business in the United States. Demand is relatively inelastic and regulation is lax, so you can charge whatever you want for an interest rate, increase your fees once or twice a year, and make additional money off cash withdrawals and foreign exchange transactions.
