Design for Impact, Design for Good

There are some that say design and innovation can change the world. Cameron Sinclair, who heads up design and construction for the Jolie-Pitt Foundation, is one of those people.

In case you’re wondering what Cameron does, he builds for communities in need. Sinclair previously co-founded and ran Architecture for Humanity, a charitable organization which built architecture and design solutions for humanitarian crises. Cameron was able raise over $50M for humanitarian initiatives during his 14-year tenure. Projects ranged from schools, health clinics, affordable housing and long-term sustainable reconstruction after natural and man-made disasters.

He’s a leading authority on the future of architecture and co-edited two bestselling books including “Design Like You Give A Damn 1 and 2”. Sinclair was a recipient of the TED prize, here’s a video clip of him speaking at TED a couple years back.

Don’t miss his session Designing for Impact at Innovate @ TBD FEST where he’ll dive deeper into how design can help save the world. This one shouldn’t be missed.
