Then came the discovery, to the shock of millions, that sucking smoke into your lungs might not be good for you.     …and that’s not even counting advertising embedded within video game content, either statically or dynamically-retrieved (circa 2007-ish), or the modern trend of advertising as a form of currency: the vast majority of “free” mobile apps operate on the premise of a user paying with their attention to advertising within the app rather than with money up front.
